Providing a safe place for you to find support amidst the storms of life
Meet Cheryl
Cheryl has worked in the social service profession for over 20 years. She was a Program Director for a women’s residential facility for seven years. Additionally, she worked as a Clinical Director for a nonprofit community mental health organization. For over ten years, Cheryl worked as an associate pastor for a church in Portland. It was there that she began to walk out her call to serve hurting people and felt led to pursue academics to enhance her ability to help.
Cheryl has a Bachelor’s of Science in Biblical studies and a Masters of Arts in Counseling. She is now a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who owns her private practice called Sheltered from the Storm Counseling Services. As a licensed counselor, Cheryl provides supervision for counseling interns and pre-licensed counselors along with individual mental health care for persons struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma and other life challenges. Cheryl also includes Christian Counseling and spiritual direction care for individuals seeking a deeper relationship with God. Cheryl’s passion is to create a safe, comfortable space for people to define their healing as she integrates biblical principles with principles of psychology to improve mental health.
